The Land

Overview
My lot is a rectangular 2 acres located west of St. Augustine off of County Road 214 (King Street).
It is a long rectangle which is bordered by a lake on the east side and two other properties north and south. I-95 is located just past my property to the west.
My land is roughly 615' x 150'.
The Entry
The entry to the lot is really at the back (far west side) and has a large easement around my neighbors to the north. The driveway is really long (about 2600') and through the woods. It is a beautiful drive back into the property and one of the things that I fell in love with when I first saw the property.
The Lake
The lake is roughly 5 acres and it a beautiful peaceful lake. There isn't much activity on it and it is very clean.
To answer your question: NO, I have not seen any alligators on it yet but it is Florida after all, so I wouldn't bet against it.
There are a lot of fish and according to my builder, they seem very eager to "strike" just about anything you throw in. He is an avid fisherman and was curious one Saturday while working with the surveyor so he got out his fishing pole. He said in 15 minutes he had caught 3 good size bass and was betting that the fishing would be a lot of fun for my grandchildren as the fish were easy to catch. I am looking forward to seeing how they do.
The house site
The property has a site already cleared and prepped for a new home. There is a small line of trees are the back of the property by the lake that we will be clearing out. This will give the house a clear view of the lake. The house will be situated at an angle so that most of the rooms of the house will have a lake view.
The combination of the home site with the lake sealed the deal for me. Standing on the clearing and looking out over the lake just felt like home and convinced me that this is where the next chapter of my life needed to be written.

Out Buildings
The site comes with a couple of out buildings already that need a little TLC but it is a nice jump-start for storing some of the things that I plan to acquire (Tractor, gardening equipment, tools, etc.)
There is a really nice Quonset hut at one end of the property which will make a great auxiliary garage. Additionally there is a shed which they seem to be storing tools in and was possibly a workshop. It needs a little TLC and clean up but will also be put into use.
